Retro Games, which previously released THEC64, a 2018 microconsole that emulated the Commodore 64, announced in August 2021 The A500 Mini (stylized as THEA500 Mini), a similar microconsole that will emulate the Amiga 500 as well as the Amiga 600 and Amiga 1200. In addition to 25 Amiga 500 games that will ship with the unit, users will be able to sideload other games from a USB drive with WHDLoad support. The unit will ship with a two-button mouse that is molded after the original, and an eight-button gamepad, both of which connect via USB. Like the Commodore 64, the Amiga 500 shipped in a large keyboard form factor, and so too does The A500 Mini. The system draws power from a USB-C cable and outputs to 720p at 60 Hz in the US, or 50 Hz in Europe. There are multiple scaling options, a CRT filter, the ability to save and resume progress in games, and upgradeable firmware.

This one is a real step up from the previously released THEC64 Mini from the same company, especially the controller is way better. While I have never owned a Amiga 500 my self, the games and type of games on this machine are the ones I have a lot of nostalgia for. THEC64 Mini - not permitted to use the names "Commodore 64" or "C64" or register "The C64 Mini" as a trademark - is an emulation product released by Retro Games Ltd which takes the form of a non-functional (though a virtual keyboard can be activated through the joystick) half-scale Commodore 64 keyboard with two USB and one HDMI ports, plus a micro USB attachment to power the system. The HDMI attachment is used for connecting the machine to a screen, while the two USB ones are used to connect THEC64 joysticks (as well as third-party input devices), which enable the user to use the included software, or to load new software ROMs into the console, which uses emulator x64 as operating system. It was announced in 2018 that a fully functional full-scale replica called "THEC64" - as opposed to THEC64 Mini - is in production.

With this one I am kind of missing the real feeling / experience of loading the game etc. (even with it being tedious). The controller is also really bad and borderline unusable. So it is kind of trash overall, but I love the look of it.

In April 2017, Nintendo announced they were discontinuing the product, leading to consumer confusion, and incidents of greatly increased pricing among private sellers. Due to the demand of the NES Classic, and the success of the Super NES Classic Edition console, Nintendo re-introduced the NES Classic on June 29, 2018. Production was discontinued again in December 2018.

This one is amazing. I have a lot of consoles and other equipment but the availble space is limited. So I can have this one + the other minis plugged into my TV all of the time instead of having to switch out the big actual consoles constantly.

The console, a successor to the NES Classic Edition, comes with twenty-one Super NES titles pre-installed, including the first official release of Star Fox 2. It was released in North America and Europe on September 29, 2017.

The Sega Genesis Mini, known as the Mega Drive Mini in regions outside of North America, is a dedicated video game console modeled on Sega's Genesis in miniature. The Mini will emulate the original console's 16-bit hardware and include 42 pre-installed games, including two that were never released for the original console, which were ported by M2.

This one looks and feels great, having some gaming sessions planned for the future.

On June 9, 2018, SNK announced the Neo Geo Mini (officially NEOGEO mini), a miniature sized semi-portable arcade cabinet which features built-in 40 SNK titles, and was released on July 24, 2018 in Japan to celebrate SNK's 40th anniversary. The games on the system are the AES home console versions with limited continues, however the Neo Geo Mini features the save/load state system which allows players to save and load the game at any time to continue the game and has up to four save files per game. The Neo Geo Mini also allows itself to be connected to a TV screen by connecting it with its very own HDMI cable (sold separately), including a headphone jack and two ports for external Neo Geo Mini Pad controllers (also sold separately), which are the re-design of Neo Geo CD controllers, allows it to have two players play on the system at once. On July 19, 2019, SNK announced the discontinuation of the original Neo Geo mini.

SNK also announced the Neo Geo Mini International Version, which was released outside Japan on October 15, 2018 and later in Japan on November 15, 2018. The international version contains the same features as the Japanese Neo Geo Mini but with 14 out of 40 different titles and a different interface. As such, both versions have 54 different SNK titles in total. On July 19, 2019, SNK announced the discontinuation of the international version in Japan.

This one has an other form factor as the others as it comes in the shape of an arcade machine. The special thing about this is that it can be used as its own standalone unit as it has its own build in screen and controls. It can also be hooked up to a TV via HDMI, but I will have to get some (separately sold) controllers for that to be really usefull for me.

The PlayStation Classic is a dedicated video game console by Sony Interactive Entertainment that emulates games originally released on its 1994 PlayStation console. It was announced in September 2018 at the Tokyo Game Show, and released on December 3, 2018, the 24th anniversary of the release of the original. The console has been compared to competitor Nintendo's prior releases of the NES Classic Edition and Super NES Classic Edition mini consoles.

Everyone's hating on this one, some people I know seem to have a personal vendetta against it even. And while they could have done a little better I still really like mine (while not the only criticism ofcource, the use of PAL roms for example how big of an issue is that for us EUers who grow up with those versions of the games anyways?). Disliked the quick price drops after I just bought mine tho.
